Both textbooks are optional. For those that have taken the course, should I pursue them?

Definitely need it for 2FA3 especailly if you have Deaves since he likes to use useless random points from his book to put in true/false questions. Don't need it for 2ab3, Giri gives tons of practice questions.

I am taking it right now (Summer School). For finance, I have K. Brewer, not deaves; for accounting i have shehahta, not giri.

familiar with these professors?

buy the 2FA3 summer one, you will need it for 3rd year finance too (man I bought the Deaves' crap and failed during the year-.-retaking again)
for 2AB3 with shehahta, I've no idea.....
