So, I was wondering, what are your experiences with Athabasca University? How does the testing work?
Thanks :p

I haven't gone there, but they have designated testing centres, all over ontario, where you pay a fee (for an invigilator) and go and right your test there. Also, you have to apply before the 10th of the month, and you get enrolled for the month after.

Yeah i noticed that there are about 5 test centers in ottawa, but none of them say the price. I assume 50$ or so?

http://www2.athabascau.ca/prospective/
"Undergraduate program admission and course registration is offered year-round. Apply today! Once admitted you can register for courses immediately. Our individualized study courses generally start on the first day of every month. Register for a course by the 10th of the month, and you can start as early as the first day of the next."
The list below outlines the exam invigilation centres in the province of Ontario.
And then they list them here: http://www.athabascau.ca/registrar/invignet/on.php
Next to each location, they say the price. Some are by the exam (around $30 or $40) or by the hour (around $25 an hour)
Also, "*tell your girl the abstinence is over, I'll fold her in half till her ankles touch the back of her shoulders* "
Wtf?

You have 6 months to complete a course from when you start it. Check the course, it depends which one it is but most are offered starting every month. Assignments are submitted online and for any tests you submit an online request for it, it gets mailed to the test centre of your choice (usually closest you) and go you and write it there, paying their fee. They send the test back to Athabasca for marking, and you see all results online. If there are any labs etc they send you a giant box with all the materials and a lab manual, so you follow the instructions and do it from there.
A note of caution: it's basically self-teaching. If you pick a course to do that you can't teach to yourself, you wont do well.

Yup, every course so far in elec eng ive had to teach myselves since some professors just cannot teach -_-
Unfortunately the locations in Ottawa do not have a price, but I can assume its about $60 or so. Also, anyone know what time the tests are at? I will be working full-time coop so if it conflicts it might be an issue... can I pick a time? Like 6-9pm or something?
Thanks!

I assume so, but some run from $100-$150 so be prepared to spend more. I know you can chose which location you go to, so try and find the cheapest one (give them a call when you get a chance to get an idea)

I'm pretty sure that's the maximum time allowed. You can work at your own pace, so you can finish it in a shorter time if you want. Check this.

There is a preapproved list.
If its not on the list then you gotta go through this long process to get it approved.

How do you check if the courses at Athabasca are Mac equivalent courses? I remember an academic advisor showing me on the website, but I can't seem to find it now
