MACgreen Temporarily Relocated and Summer Events
RELOCATION: MACgreen has unfortunately needed to move due to flooding in the Wentworth House location. So, for now MACgreen can be found in the commitee room of the MSU Office (MUSC rm.201).
SCREENING OF "TO THE TAR SANDS":Watch it this Friday, August 1, 7:30 PM at the Sky Dragon Centre at 27 King William Street in Hamilton.
The film documents 20 young cyclists' journey as they set out to explore what Alberta's oil boom is actually like. The tar sands in this area emit massive greenhouse gas emissions, which ultimately effects us all.
This documentary film screening is a fundraiser for this year's trip from the tar sands to the headquarters of oil companies in Calgary. Pay what you can, but minimum 5$ donation appreciated. For more information, contact Thom at [email protected], or Aly at [email protected] .com.
WORKSHOPS:
Survive and Thrive as the Oil Prices Rise, presented by Sustainable Lifestyles.
There will be two free workshops on August 6th and August 7th held at The Freeway at 333 King St E, downtown Hamilton. There will be speakers, handouts, film clips, discussion, and free snacks and seedlings to take home and realize the joy of growing your own food.
Kevin Hamiltonspeaks about permaculture and the energy crisis on August 7th from 7-9PM at 7 Butty Place, Hamilton.
