Okay so I know we do actually have a brilliant thread about SOLAR and how it runs using a ingenious combination of Two Casio 981 Calculators hooked up with a SATA Cable and a modified floppy disk as a server storage box.
However unlike yesteryears I think there is a new and even major concern on the horizon: Full courses and most infuriating Courses Not offered anymore(but for some reason mentioned in the course Calendar)
Stuff that just makes you go MAC MY LIFE :(
Here's my story:
Full Courses: Econ 2A03 2T03 and Econ of sports. The first two are infuriating because I actually wanted to specialize if possible towards labour economics and both of them are FULL the day they opened up. I know a good deal about sports econ(in context of soccer) so really wanted to take that as well.
Mmedia full, Astronomy full, CSTC full, CMST FULL,Peace studies full, Pop Music full. Astronomy and Origins 2B03 also Full
Not Offered: Indian subcontinent politics and Buisness ethics(2N03) and Sociology 2T03(Sports), Music and TV(2T03), Sociology2L03(How can analysis of the Media not be important?!) no longer offered. Along with Religious Studies 2C03

Lol It was but I think your good friends at FYEO turned it down because it obviously sounded alot like FML.com (Or so I heard)
But I'm using MML as an ironic term; MML was supposed to be an indication of Mac's awesomeness, which is still there only that being an Arts student is no longer awesome :(

So I look through the leaked course calender on here a while ago to discover, to my ultimate and slightly strange dismay, that BOTH second year History of Modern Germany AND History of Russia after 1917 aren't offered.
I curse the History program for infinity and proceed to ask the Humanities advisors what I can do about this. They say that I can take 3rd year classes that are somewhat similar instead.
Great! I get to take 3rd year Nazi German history and the Soviet Union through film.
Tuesday morning, 12:45, I log into everyone's favorite...SOLAR...to pick my classes. I click on both classes...
FULL
Everything...full...d amn. So 3rd year Modern China and 2nd year Middle Eastern Encounters for now...
Epic MML. (also used ironically)

200 sessional profs eliminated + however many CLAs without renewed contract = less course selection and bigger classes that are full.

There is no win in Macville.
I knew this was coming when I read the 200 sessionals layoff article on Insiders, but it to be THIS BAD?!
And how exactly am I supposed to be a FYEC Counselling Volunteer in the next 2 weeks and a Socsci WW Rep and tell people that everything's awesome and the best four years of your life etc; all with a straight face?

All schools have problems though. Look at York for example: they have had two strikes in the past five years. These are just the really annoying ones Mac has.

Agreed. Everything has to be put in perspective! The grass is always "greener" on the other side.
BTW, what is this year's WW theme then? (or is it TOP SECRET?)

They'll probably say something like
Mcmaster is an inspiration and you will meet wonderful people and it will be the foundation of your life and blah blah blah WOW!!
No matter what the theme is (Mac to the Future!) they'll ruin it with stuff like that
