Political Science Majors
For all those who are majoring in political science and are going into 2nd year i have a quick question.
On the course calender it says 6 units from Poli Sci 2GO06 and 24 units from level II and II of which a maximum can be from level II.
This being said is Poli Sci 2O06 a mandatory requirement for honours political science students?
Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yup. They apparently don't word things in the Undergrad calender too well it seems.
Although I'm not in Pol Sci, I've had the same sort of wording.
Sooo dumb.

I think they word it the way they word it to save space on the website. Afterall, there are so many courses under certain departments that scrolling down is a chore. Anything more would be even worse.
But once you've figured out the wording you are pretty much good to go since they use the same wording everywhere (thank goodness for that)

6 units POL SCI 2O06
24 units Levels II, III Political Science of which a maximum of 12 units may be Level II; including at least one course from the Canadian Politics Field of Study (See Note 2 above.)
Hmm If I'm not wrong it means that apart from 20o6 you also have to take 12 units from level 2 and 12 units from level 3?
But those requirements are for overall graduation, so in other words you can take 12 Units of Polisci max level two and 12 Level 3(anytime during the next three years) And one Canadian course from Level 2 or 3 has to be one of them

You can only take 12units maximum of Level II Poli Sci courses not listed in your requirements. The other 12 units must be from Level III Poli Sci
Yes Huzaifa, that is correct. You can also take less than 12 units from Level II and the other units will have to be from Level III, but I say more Level II theoretically should be easier.

So will Poli Sci 2O06 count as part of the 12 units (half of them) or is it those 6 units PLUS an additional 12?

It's 6 units plus an additional 12. (Not forget the other 12 will be Level III though)
