95 percent of people in health sci are socially awkward.

It's probably cause they work their butt of for their marks to actually get admitted. They actually care about where they want to go afterward which is why they try so damn hard to get admitted into it. That's what I've interpreted from it, mind you.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:
The courses you take are much more valuable than the crazy jumble of letters that will come after your name (ie. your program/degree).
If you wanna go to med school, take the relevant pre-requisites and get there. Don't let this stop you.

But the badge of pretentiousness you receive upon becoming a health sci student is pretty neat.

1. Grade inflation in Ontario creates an uneven playing field, so saying that having high marks in high school gives them a sort of entitlement is unfair.
2. (To the original poster) Through my deductive reasoning, your profile pic (of House) probably means that you think medicine/health care is like the TV show, which it is far from. If this is true your essay probably was the main reason for rejection. Real experience comes from volunteering/working in labs/hospitals etc.. Not to sound harsh but it's true
3. Health sci kids need someone to hold their hand when they cross the street (just playin' they're alright)

Frankly it's the only reason I'm in the program. It's a great accessory.

The OP's profile pic is not House, mine is. I just thought I would let you know that I am aware of what you said. Believe me, I did my research and I know real medicine is not like House. I just happen to enjoy the show. If you did confuse me with the OP, I started a different thread on health sci but that one was just asking whether anyone had been accepted yet. I was rejected but am not bitter.

woops. my bad. thx, anyways, i still hope you choose mac. I chose to major in biochem after my first year in life sci, it's quite a good program, plus the department is joint between science and health sci, so it's like you're half health sci lol. Yeap, come visit and c for yourself.

hey ive always wandered what the actual "perks" of being in health sci are.... ive heard rumors some rather far fetched and some unfair but what do the health scis get that the rest of us don't? and that make the rest of us hate them/( possibly be jealous of them)?
