Nah man, and you have to wash your clothes down by the lake.

You need A LOT of detergent.

Don't worry man, all the residences have an internet connection.

A really, really, REALLY fast connection.

Personally I think that rez is a better option for first year. I was also dead set on getting my own room and space...and then I ended up in Brandon in a double thanks to the lottery. But I ended up having an awesome time! It's an adjustment but then you're right on campus and you are with a bunch of other people going through the same thing

This is not completely true. There are quad rooms where there are 4 people in one room. All the room assingments are based on a lottery so if you are that against living with other people you should just live off campus.

My apologies. I was just going based on all the quad people I've ever known to attend Mac, previously and now.
Sorry!

No worries, the quad traditional rooms aren't common so its understandable you haven't seen or heard of one.

You can just keep putting money onto your meal card.

I do that because I'm lazy and sometimes don't want to walk 20 minutes to get a sammich.

Yay lazyness.

Quad rooms are very different from 4-person apartments or suites. Quad rooms are literally four people in one room, just as triples are 3 people in one room and doubles are 2 people in one room. There are also single rooms available--most of them are in Les Prince, but most residences have at least a few.
Bates has 2-person, 4-person and 6-person apartments. For the 2-person ones, I believe the two people have to share a room, but the 4-person and 6-person ones all get their own rooms.
I'm not entirely sure how the Keyes suites work, but I'd imagine it's the same.

These are the fees, from the housing website: http://housing.mcmaster.ca/Residence...ions/Fees.html

All you have to do is google 'mcmaster housing' to find it...not that hard The housing website should be able to answer any other questions you have about res.

mfattal says thanks to nerual for this post.
