24 hour businesses in Hamilton
Hey again. I have another "I-don't-know-Hamilton-to-save-my-life" questions. Im looking to pick up a job from approximately 4 PM - midnight, and the easiest place to do that would be a 24 hour place of some sort. What places are there that are 24 hours, so I can start typing up resumes and such?

My only criteria are a) that I can get there from school in 40 minutes by bus; and b) that it pays me money.

Once again, thanks in advance for any help :]

There's the Tim Hortons about 5-10 minutes west of Campus and a Subway right in front of Campus.

Those are the only ones I know of at the moment.

EDIT: if you're only working from 4pm-12am why would a 24-hour place be easier?

The first place that jumps into my mind is Tim Hortons.

They've almost exclusively got 24 hour drive-thrus, and dining rooms open until midnight (used to be 24 hours also until two robberies occured two nights in a row at the same location).

The best part is, they're 'dime a dozen' so to speak....there are like, trillions of Tim Hortons found on just about every street corner, haha. Within a 40 minute radius around Mac, there's gotta be a decent number of them you can apply to. (:

There are more options too, so I'll keep thinking...but these instantly spring to mind.

--------

@Jeff: He did say 'approximately.' And approximately after midnight = 24 hours.

because most other places close between 5 and 9 PM, with the odd 10 PM or midnight places. But 24 hours are more common than those, at least where I live.

Sounds like home. Peterborough is about 80000 people, and we literally have like 40-50 Timmies here, including the in-store kiosks and what not. Insane.

off topic, but I'm from peterborough too I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that peterborough has the most tim hortons per capita or something. don't quote me on that, though. :p

As for places to work, Pita Pit isn't 24 hours, but they're slogan is that they're "open late" (i think until about 1 or 2 am). They're really close to mac too, right in westdale.

Pita Pit is open till 2am!
The Grocery Store Metro is a 10-15 Minute walk and 5 Minute Bus ride and is open 24 Hours(On King Street)
I'm not sure what the hours for the two fortinos(king and main) are though!
Other then that you'll have to look downtown, but coming back home at 1am-2am is reaaallly not recommended even if you are like 30 years old!

Basilique is family owned...so I don't think they'd be hiring.

Think of things that would be open late where you are and see if similar chains are found in Hamilton

Grocery stores (two close to campus are 24 hours)
Restaurants (weekends they're open until 2, weekdays 11ish)
Places that sell quick food (Pita Pit, Pizza Pizza, Tim Hortons etc)
Places that serve booze (i.e. places in Hess Village)
Blockbuster
Convenience Stores
Drugstores (some are open until midnight or later)

Close to Mac there isn't much; a lot of the stores close pretty early.

Catering businesses are supposed to be good ways to make money, as are banquet halls. There are a bunch of both in Hamilton.

Although I don't know how to find it, the companies that clean office buildings and such do it after hours, so they could work out too.

That 40 minutes is also from where you're living (wherever that may be). And you're also going to want to know if you can get back at night (HSR is limited at night depending on where you're coming from)

Pretty much any fast food place will be open to at least midnight. I don't know about Hamilton, but in Toronto our Wendy's drive-thru's are open until 2-3AM.

McDonalds Drive-Thru's are 24-hours. Shoppers Drug Marts are midnight or 24 hours, Metro, Tim Hortons

As others have mentioned, most Tim Hortons locations are open pretty late. Metro is another option, as is McDonalds or Shoppers Drug Mart at King and Dundurn.

Sadly, there is no Wendy's in downtown Hamilton...the nearest one is either up the mountain on Upper James, or all the way in Queenston. So not fair T_T

There is one near the Fortinos on Main...I believe it would be on Rifle Range Road
