McMaster raises the price of food every single summer, it has nothing to do with negotiations. They make a profit off of hospitality services and they slowly increase it every year. Those casual workers were hired because they expected the strike to occur and they were getting ready to weather it. Also the strikers didn't ask for anything more than what they had, and considering they already make a profit for the university you can't really blame them for any price increase.
