The list of all the clubs on campus is available here: https://www.msumcmaster.ca/clubs/lis...earchClubs.htm
However, that is the list since Januaryish 2009, so any new clubs for September 2009 are not included in that list.
You can email the Clubs Admin and ask if there are any of those clubs ratified for next September. If not, you can start your own club for January.

People usually don't walk around in fur on campus, so the situation doesn't really come up.
However, I assume if you're wanting to wear fur, bare minimum you're going to get some dirty looks.

LOL
I read the thread topic and thought, oh boy, all we need a PETA club. Then I read this and smiled.
You'll probably get dirty looks, but it's hard to not get dirty looks for something these days.
Shameless plug: if you want to write an article for The Silhouette on the topic, I know it would spark a great discussion on campus.

Well, I've been wearing fur and leather my whole life, just usually my day jackets have it on the inside, so not noticable.
But I just got a nice white chinchilla coat with a fox collar as a gift from my mom.... its pretty intense since theres a fox's head on it too...
I have gotten looks and even comments before... but I'm just worried that someone will try to ruin it or something... so just checking how intense mcmaster's peta fans are.
Ps- I once wrote an article on my blog and.. oh my GOD did people hate on me hardcore.

If you're worried about it, don't wear it.
I'd place my bets that you want this to turn into an argument though.

"Day jacket" sounds like "blazer" to me. You don't need to wear it, so if you're worried, don't bother bringing it to school.
If it's a jacket for fall/winter, you can definately find those for less than $500 and without fur.

Also, it rains in Hamilton more often than it snows. And it's not usually too cold even when there is snow.

I'd like to Ditto Joey on the 'oh my Elvis, the last thing Mac needs is PETA... Wow this girl is AWESOME!'
Wear it loud and proud. If anyone gives you a hard time ask them what they think of the Engineering and Athletic jackets, they're all made of Cow Leather. Then you can ask them about their iPod & Laptop. All modern electronics contain Mylar - made from Animal by-products. Almost every non brass instrument contains some animal products (glues, etc). Then you can ask them about the chair they sit on and the concrete they walk on and the soap they use... (I could go on like this, all of the aforementioned things are made with Animal byproducts).
Why is there a double standard where wearing fur is so much more evil than leather? Maybe it's because the cow was already dead since we eat beef, and cows aren't cute.

Leather is pretty gross too. =p
That said, if you want to wear the fur coat, go ahead. However, don't expect people to be all that pleased if there's a fox's head on your clothing.
There is a group called PAWS on campus, but not every animal rights group is like PETA.
