Applying for a B.A. within the Combined B.A/B.S.W. program
Hello everyone,

After being admitted to the Faculty of Social Sciences, I have been set on pursuing the combined B.A./B.S.W program with Health, Aging and Society being my ideal B.A. Now having that said, should I be selecting courses that fit the Health, Aging and Society requirements during level I, or am I supposed to apply for acceptance to it first and just complete level I in the meantime? Any assistance would be much appreciated!

While I haven't begun my first year yet, I figured I would at least be prepared come March of 2013.

Both, unless I'm not understanding your question.
You need to complete level 1, but there are also level 1 prerequisites necessary to get into Health, Aging and Society that you should take as well.

Check the course calendar for the pre requisites to get into level II Health, Aging and Society. I believe you need at minimum a C- in both 1AA3 and 1BB3 to get in. The BSW program requires either Sociology or Social Work 1A06, a minimum average of C+ and you have to write an admissions test that's graded by an upper level undergrad student and a faculty member.

take level 1 courses that would go towards your BA in health aging and society as well as a BSW in social work (so you would take health age 1aa3+1bb3 and social work 1a03, leaving you with 7 other electives). i would suggest taking sociology and social work since social work is a limited program, in the chance that you dont get in after first year you could at least have the prereqs to go into sociology
