go bed anywhere between 1-4am, and wake up at 6 am.
sometimes pull all-nighters for like long periods of times(so far 43 hrs this semester)

I wish I had those extra 2-3 hours in the morning to get stuff done.

I don't know how you guys manage all nighters at all. I become a mentally unstable zombie after staying up until about 7am. Can't even imagine making it through the rest of the day like that.

That, and I'm a firm believer that you need at least some sleep to retain the knowledge gained.

on the weekdays, I sleep around midnight or 2:00am and I wake up at either 7 am or 8 am depending on my schedule. Although I set my alarm on 7 or 8 am, i end up waking up 50 mins later.

I consider that to be a bit moot when that sleep wasn't actually obtained during the night...but then, that's just me. xD

We'd actually have to do a whole study to really make sure.

For the days I need to get up at 5am, I'm usually asleep by 11:30pm.

The rest of the week, I don't have to wake up early, so I go to bed around midnight-1am. I use these days to make up for lost sleep on my 5am days.

When my sleep cycle is perfect I usually get to sleep around 11pm-8am, i feel drowsy for about 3 hours any given day, but if I fight through it I can use those 3 extra hours to my benefit rather than simply sleeping instead.

What i found is that i have slowly been getting less and less sleep, and am still able to function fine as long as its gradual. at the beginning of the year, if i got less then 8 hours id be dead, and now at 6.5 hours of sleep (going to bed at 1am ish) im wide awake for my 8:30 class

Sleep: 1am to 2 am

Wake up: 6:30 to 7

How do most of u have so much of time to sleep?
Guess u all have better time management skills than me.

Well at least this is better than when i was back home, in high school. I slept @ abt 1-2 and woke up at 4 to 4:30 to catch a 5 O'Clock bus.

I dont have much of an issue...

I have noticed that the less I sleep, the more active I am during the day. However, on day where I sleep @ abt 10, I find myself struggling to get out of bed and make it through my day. Couple of my buddies have experienced the same thing.

What do u guys think?

Yeah bro, I love how half of us are upset that we can't wake up early enough, and the other half are upset that they don't have enough time for sleep.

And waking up at 7:30? That's still not bad. My body winds down by 11:30pm, but I'm lucky if I get up before 9:45am.

When you "sleep less" are you talking about 6-8 hours? For a lot of people, that is their optimal sleep amount, and they function rather well. For most people 10 hours is too much. Sleeping that much can make you drowsy and groggy.

Try to find an optimal amount of sleep and stick to that. Maybe write down or keep in your head the times you go to sleep and wake up for a few days, and see which times felt good / when you woke up alert.

Of course, things like coffee and even when you ate your dinner/what you ate will affect how you feel so it won't be perfect but it may help you find your ideal sleep time/pattern.
