Bio 2A03 and 2B03 in the same term

For next year, the schedule for me ended up having Bio 2A03 and 2B03 both in the second term.

In terms of difficulty and course load, would that be doable to get a good mark in both? Or should I try to shuffle things around and get them in different terms? (I'd have Bio 2A03 and 2C03 in the same term then, but people say Genetics is pretty easy)
I've heard that 2A03 is really difficult but haven't found many reviews of 2B03 on here.

I would be taking it alongside Kin 2CC3, Psych 2TT3, and Hlth Age 1BB3.

Thanks in advance!

I never took Bio 2A03, but Bio 2B03 is pretty straightforward, probably comparable to genetics. Lectures, online weekly tutorials (you read something and do a quiz on it), two midterms, a short essay and an exam.

Personally, I think you should go with Bio 2A03 and Bio 2C03 since Bio 2B03 is heavy on memorization and physiology is very time consuming b/c of the labs. This way, you'll be able to have time to focus on cell bio and still be able to manage physiology and genetics (I took physio and genetics in the same term and I didn't find the workload too difficult).

Hope this helps.

I didn't do Bio 2A03 with 2B03 but I know a lot of people who did and it worked out fine! Bio 2A03 material isn't difficult, it's just the lab write-ups that are a bit tedious. Bio 2B03 on the other hand, was all memorization, with some application and an essay (which was very straightforward (Note- I didn't take it with Dr. Dej, so the outline might be a bit different). Regarding the poster above, I personally found Bio 2C03 a little less straightforward than Bio 2B03, but it all depends on your preference. You could always postpone Bio 2A03 till 3rd year (which I don't recommend) or take Bio 2B03 in the summer!

		 Hmmm okay thanks.
I was trying to avoid having 2A03 and 2C03 together cause that'd mean I'd have 8:30 class 3 days a week second semester.

Haha guess I'll see if I can tough it out for those early mornings.

		Heyy!
I personally had Bio 2B03 and Bio 2A03 in the same semester now in second year and it wasn't bad, I finished with high marks in both. Sometimes it can get tough as midterms are close in dates and the labs for 2A03 do take a lottt of time but it's doable. I found 2A03 a lot more interesting and would spend a lot of time on it so throughout the term I did much better in that class, causing some of my midterm marks for 2B03 to not be as great as I hoped. But the weekly quizzes for 2B03 are easy to do well on just do them with friends and they really boost your mark, also the final exam for 2B03 isn't very difficult as long as you study which also helps boost your mark! I did find 2C03 easier than 2B03, but that's just cause the material was more interesting to me, their about the same difficulty level I would say so I don't think having 2B03 or 2C03 with 2A03 would make a big difference.

Hope that helps!

I also had 2A03 and 2B03 in the same semester and it was fine! I honestly didn't ever think of it as a problem to have them both in the same semester. I'd say 2A03 is more work than 2B03 and for me personally 2C03 and 2B03 had the same workload, 2B03 was just a bit more memorization and I enjoyed 2C03 more because the material was more interesting.

If I were you I'd probably take 2B03 and 2A03 in the same semester because I hate morning classes haha. Overall, it's 2nd year so there will be a lot of work to do, no matter the class!

		 Those were really helpful. Thanks!

I guess I can just keep it that way. Being awake for class would probably help significantly.

Haha, i guess i'm the only one here who found cell bio difficult lol .
With that being said, I agree with the two posts above. You should consider taking both cell bio and physiology in the same semester since you mentioned that you don't like morning classes (best to avoid morning classes if you don't like them, imo).

Good luck!

Well come your upper years you could be taking 4 bio courses in 1 semester, so you may as well get used to balancing the workload. It's perfectly do-able.

I did 2A03, 2B03, and 2C03 in the same term haha.
2A03 had the most workload because of the lab reports, they really take a while to write if you want to get a good mark. 2B03 and 2C03 are kind of the same in terms of workload however I found that 2B03 was mostly just memorization of details and 2C03 was more application of simpler, more interesting concepts. You can definitely do 2A03 and 2B03 in the same term and do well, same goes for 2A03 and 2C03. It's just a matter of preference I guess.
