Bio 2F03 (ecology) Midterm info
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me any information about the midterm: what lectures it covers, format, etc.
Thanks in advance!

Dont know the chapters it covers because I took it last year but I can give you some tips. The test was all multiple choice and most of it was taken from the lecture slides. Although there were questions here and there that were from the book. There were also a few questions that no one had seen before (random stuff from the year before I guess).
There were 65 questions in total, but Dr. Chow-Fraser marked the test out of 60.
A lot of my friends asked me if its worth reading the textbook, and I think it really depends on whether you want a super high mark or a high mark.
good luck.

Thanks, so you think simply reading the lecture notes would be sufficient? What was the difficulty level of the midterm last year (if you dont mind me asking).

the first midterm was definitely harder than the second one. But still easy and manageable. I think that if you read the book and the lecture notes you can almost guarantee yourself a 12. If you read only the lecture notes, you kinda have to get lucky to get a 12 but you still can.
But dont worry too much about it, the midterms are easy peasy not to mention that the tutorial marks bring up every ones average up.

And even if she did, thats now considered academic dishonesty.

1 hour.. 50 MC questions. Chapters 1-8, 11, 12 + all the Cootes Paradise info from the first lecture..
Good luck!
Oh and don't forget to do the sample questions she has on Avenue! Haven't looked at them yet, but she said it gives you a sense of what types of questions she'll ask.

Yeah I know it does, but considering we had the cell biology midterm with 38 MC and 45 minutes, I don't see why she wouldn't do it. Sad, but true =/.

speaking of practice questions. she's likely to use a few of them on the test, so definitely go over them. Also I asked her about previous tests... .she likes to recycle questions so she doesn't hand them out.

Yeah...if she puts any questions like this one, we're screwed for time...
Hopefully this question was just a scare tactic!
