Bio-Psych Course selection Help, please!
I'm sorry if there is another similar thread, I'm just sorta kinda freaking out so I'm just posting this now. The course requirements just state courses that should be completed in Level II-IV and so I'm kind of confused as to whether I'm choosing the correct ones.
12 units BIOCHEM 3G03, BIOLOGY 2C03, CHEM 2OA3, 2OB3
15 units PNB 2XA3, 2XB3, 2XC3, 2XE3, 2XT0, 3XE3
3 units from BIOLOGY 2A03, 2B03, 2F03
9 units from Biology Course List which must include at least three units of Level III
3 units from Psychology Course List (See Program Note 5 above)
27 units Level III or IV courses from Biology Course List or Psychology Course List, including at
least nine units from Biology Course List and nine units from Psychology Course List. One of BIOLOGY 4C09, 4F06, PNB 4D09 or 4DD6 must be included. (See Program Notes 3 and 4 above.)
3 units from Psychology Lab Course List (See Program Notes 2 and 3 above.)
0-3 units PHYSICS 1B03 if not completed in Level I (See Admission Note above.)
15-18 units Electives (See Program Note 5 above)
__
So far I'm considering taking BIOLOGY 2C03, CHEM 2OA3, 2OB3, PNB 2XA3, 2XB3, 2XC3, 2XE3, 2XT0, one of BIO 2A03/2B03/2F03 (haven't decided yet) plus electives. Would that be the correct choice for a Level II load?
I'm assuming the 27 units are for Level III and IV, as are the 3 units from the Psych Lab Course list and the 9 units from the Bio Course list...and BIOCHEM 3G03 and PNB 3XE3. Would that be a valid assumption?
Any help will be appreciated!

It still needs to be updated for the new program changes, but this should give you a decent overview of what you need.

Thanks, that is indeed what I was looking for! If you don't mind me asking, how has your experience been in the program? Is it a lot heavier workload-wise than other programs?

Apart from Orgo there are no genuinely hard required courses and the workload is about the same as a Biology student with a Psych Minor (i.e. Not too difficult). It's a generally excellent program with a lot of research opportunities.
Make sure you check out the BioPsych society's General Meeting in the fall and look into Psych 2QQ3 for second semester asap.

Psych 2QQ3? Or 3QQ3? That's for the lab-requirement, right? 'Cause in the new undergrad calender they don't have anything related to 2QQ3...
EDIT: Nope, they do. PNB 2QQ3. It's not mentioned in the course requirements, though...would it be taken as an elective?

Yes, it'd be an elective.
It's simply a project course, but since most profs really don't expect much from second years it usually just ends up being you helping out with odds and ends around the lab (Basically what you'd do in a volunteer position). It's great experience for your resume, gives you a leg up up when applying for 3QQ3 and/or 3I06 for 3rd year, and is essentially a guaranteed 10+. There's simply no reason not to do a 2QQ3 if you have the chance.

I just looked it up, it really does sounds great. It says that it requires the permission of the Department...does that mean I'll have to go see someone about it, or do they do that on their own? Since I really am interested in research, I'll probably be choosing this course when my course selection opens up, so I was wondering about that.
Also, the individual study/research courses...do I have to pay them any heed at this point before selecting Level II courses? Or do they come after I start Level I (what with the ballotting and stuff)?

You need permission from the department to take 2QQ3 so you wont be able to choose it when selection opens. Choose something else now and you can switch it to 2QQ3 once you find a prof. Also, you don't need to worry about the ballot system or lab courses yet.

Oooh, right, yeah. Is it hard to find a prof or something? Because I'm not too sure yet what I'd want to specfialize in and stuff.
Also, thanks a lot! I realize I'm asking a bucket-load of questions...

It can be a bit difficult since priority tends to go to Thesis/4QQ/3QQ students. 80% of the work involved in getting a 2QQ3 position is simply finding a prof with space in their lab for more students.
