I had Childs for 1ZB3 and attended all of McLean's help sessions for 1ZC3. Since Childs didn't teach 1ZC3 last year (dunno if he does this year) definitely get in McLean's class for that, because all the other options are terrible (profs who can't speak English).
As for comparing the two, they're both very funny profs and both excellent at what they do. I would give Childs the edge up because he explains things very thoroughly and really helps you understand, but McLean does a good job of that too.
TL;DR: They're both fantastic, but if you have to choose, choose Childs.

They are both pretty good profs. People have varying opinions as to which one is better. My roommate swears by McLean, whereas i preferred Childs as he was more organized and had much better notes in my opinion.

On second thought try to get into Mares' class. Id put him above Mclean and just a bit below Childs, but he knows his stuff and he is a really good lecturer, does great examples, answers a lot of questions.

Mares is one of those professors that rubs you the wrong way in the beginning of the semester, but you love him by the end. Especially when he does the tests before you and gives out insanely useful advice for studying.
