Cognitive Science of Language
I don't know if there post about this but I am really interested in the Cognitive Language of Science program and hope to do it next year.
Just wondering if some of you in the program already can give me a heads up about what to expect, courses that are not required but could help me and the work load?
Also is this a small program?
Thanks

I was in Honour Linguistics but I know a bit about Cog Sci since that's related to Linguistics. Basically what you can expect in that program is that you will be taking some upper year Psych courses along with Linguistics and some language courses. Unlike Honours Linguistics, you don't have to take a lot of language courses just a few since you will focusing more on the psychology aspect of it.

Workload wise, there is a lot for sure. You will be writing many writing assignments and requires a lot of thinking. This is only coming from a person on Honours Linguistics but it does share the same components as Cog Sci.

In my experience, I think this is a small program but also one of the most popular (well, the intro courses are). I find that there are more girls in this program than guys (I don't know why, that's just what I see). So if you are thinking of going into this program, make sure you take the intro Linguistic courses (both of them) and intro Psych (I think only 1X03) and get good marks.
