Marketing is a pretty dense course because there are lots of information that need to discuss and cover. Memorization, comprehension of the lecture notes, participating in-class exercises discussions, and reading from the textbook are essential steps to do well in the reports and the tests.
There were two reports worth, 10 and 15 % respectively. The reports consists of industry analysis, specific business analysis using SWOT analysis, Environmental analysis and 4P's strategy for one aspect of the product line of the business that your group wants to research.
Advice for group work:
The reports can be time-consuming, takes brainstorming of ideas, collecting information and editing. Having decent writing and interpersonal skills is very important. Commitment, respect to group members, and able to done task in timely manner are keys to have successful teamwork. If there are significant issues about the group work, you need to contact the professor in timely manner for support and advice.
There were 2 Midterms and Final Exam consists of multiple choice. Most of the test questions comprises of application and concept based questions.
Overall, I find Marketing as one of the most interesting course in my program. I feel like I've learned a lot in this course and gained valuable experience in my university life.
