Computing and software perks?
Hey I got an email a while back from the department of computing and software about software CAS students get for free (windows 7, other crap) and I believe there was a webpage where one could access said downloads. Anyone know where I can go about accessing these freebies given to computing and software students?

DreamSpark
McMaster (and most other university) students can get free MS operating systems and development tools directly from the official Microsoft Dreamspark program too.

https://www.dreamspark.com/default.aspx

All you need is a valid McMaster email address.

I don't see a way to get an operating system. Is there a way to get Win 7 from here?

Huh? Windows Server 2003 and 2008 are operating systems. Don't be deceived by the name "Server" -- they work perfectly fine as client OSes. I use Server 2003 to power my Virtualbox virtual machines for the odd Win32 program I have to run. (I haven't used Windows as a primary OS for more than a decade now; I run Mac OS X on my laptop, and Linux on my desktops)

Windows 7 is not part of this offering. Can't have everything, you know.

I don't want to give you the direct link, since I dunno, it might break some rules I havn't read yet.

But click this. Then click on "The Official Windows 7 Repository" below the 1st link.

It gives instructions and links on how to get Windows 7 for free.
