Cost and benefits of B.Tech Software Degree Completion
A little background.
I have just completed a 3 year college diploma in Computer Programming. I'm considering applying to your B.Tech Software degree completion program.
Are there any B.Tech students or alum who have taken a similar path, or who have taken different paths and who may have some insight?
Some posters whose comments have helped clarify things a little:
Ownaginatios, mike_302, blackdragon, micadjems, Entropy, justicebeaver, GeorgeLucas, bigoldblack.
My original desire was to complete either Comp.Sci or Sftw.Eng. I think GeorgeLucas had some fairly unambiguous opinions to share.
I would like my P.Eng if possible, H1B visa, and work in the states, these are all things a professional degree are more likely to afford.
I spoke to an admissions counselor for the B.Tech program and she mentioned notable selling points were that the course material was less hindered and more up to date with "industry" than with older programs, and also it had been 10 good years since it was first established, so the proving phase is pretty much over.
