Courses Without Tutorials
I'm considering taking a second year class with three lectures and no tutorials, instead of two lectures and one tutorial. I've never done a course like this before and I'm wondering how it works, more specifically if there's more work. Also, is there still a head TA you can go to if you need help with your essays or is there only the professor? Thank you!

I had a first year class with only 3 lectures and no tutorials, and the class was divided alphabetically as to who got which TA. There were about 6 TA'S and around 400 students. So if you needed help with an assignment you'd ask your TA, and if they can't help you, you could always go to the prof. As well, you hand in assignments to your TA.
hope this helps!

Usually there is a TA you can contact for the course, or sometimes it is the professor you can contact for help. Sometimes they'll have a course outline to let you know if there is a TA you can go to. In terms of it being more work or not, it can depend on the professor.

The vast majority of my classes haven't had tutorials. Usually there are office hours, or help hours run by TAs, but it very much depends on the content of the course and how the prof decides to run it.
