David Bradley Athletic Center
Every time I walk into David Bradley Athletic Center my student card never scans at those doors. Do I need some special card to get in?

Which part? The part to get ito the Squash Courts or to get into the Pulse (the weight lifting/cardio area)?
'Cause if it's the Pulse, you need tobuy a membership...
If you mean the scanners/turngates at the front desk, then I would suggest talking to one of the people working there. You should be able to get through, to access the squash courts, pool, lockers, track, etc.

you could always just enter through the back doors or through IWC! Avoid the need to scan =P

The front doors or the turnstiles?
The front doors are always open.
The turnstiles are having some technical difficulty. There are certain places on campus that my student barcode doesnt work (such as the fishbowl and the scanner at the front desk in mills) but my barcode works everywhere else.

The fish bowl is the room to the right when you walk in through the front doors. It has windows as one of the walls...it looks like a fishbowl...it's like the desk and the staff are little fishies....lalala...
Anyways...you can get a membership, sign up for a class, get a locker and other stuff in there.

If by "gym" you mean the workout room with weights, treadmills, and whatnot, then yes, it is only for Pulse members.
The track, pool, squash courts are open all students though.

I tried scanning it a couple times, but it didn't work. The person at the counter told me to just show my student card, because apparently, they are having troubles activating first year cards.

Kinda on topic/off topic question. Can you bring friends to the non-pulse area part of the Athletic Center? Friends who are not students at Mac?

I'm pretty sure they need to buy a base membership that non-faculty/students have to purchase, which, I assume, includes the waiver you usually sign when you enroll in a fitness class.
