Found this, a list of all the department contacts for requesting waivers for any course for the upcoming 2013/2014 school year

What do you do if you've contacted the listed person several times over 2 years for any sort of waiver, and get consistently shut down?

I need certain classes to complete a minor, and there are restrictions on which classes I can take that count towards it. ALL of the classes that would count need a waiver. I haven't received anything because "it would be setting a precedent for future students"

Just because they have the option to get waivers doesn't mean they HAVE to grant you a waiver. Minors usually give you a broad spectrum of courses which you can take to fulfil the requirement, just because you choose the minor and want to take a certain course doesn't mean that they will grant it. You can easily take another course that's open and fulfil the minor requirements. Departments always give priority to their students, taking a minor doesn't mean you're a student of that department, because for you the minor is optional. However, people majoring in that subject NEED these courses to graduate. I had the same problem with my minor, but you just have to work around it. Class spots are limited, it makes sense that they would favour the people majoring in that subject, despite how frustrating it may be for someone trying to get a minor.
