"Thematic Geometry in Allison Hedge Coke’s Blood Run: A Workshop"
Togo Salmon Hall, Room 719
* Dr. Allen plans to lead us in a discussion of Allison Hedge Coke's poetry collection Blood Run, which is about the Blood Run earthworks site (or mounds) in South Dakota/Iowa. Even if you don't get the chance to read Coke's poetry in advance, feel free to attend the workshop anyway: Chad will be circulating copies of individual poems there.
All are welcome to attend the talk and workshop!
Different Knowings: A speaker series that investigates the possibilities for productive dialogue between different epistemologies, different knowledges—different knowings—and that asks if and how the university can foster such dialogue.
The Different Knowings Speaker Series is sponsored by the Department of English and Cultural Studies and the CRC for Diversity in Canadian Literary Cultures in honour of its final year, 2010-2011.
