Dive into the Underworld with Eurydice
Eurydice is student theatre production set to hit the Robinson Memorial Theatre stage from November 14th through November 22nd, 2008. It is a quirky retelling of the classic greek myth through its heroine. Written by Sarah Ruhl, Eurydice will be brought to life as this year’s Fall Major Production at McMaster University.
Expect to be thrown into a world of twists and turns as Eurydice falls to the Underworld and reunites with her father. Watch as she has to try to remember her love she has left behind. Follow Eurydice through a strange plot as she makes constant choices that will lead to her ultimate destiny. How will one deal with her choices and how do they connect to your lives?
Eurydice showcases some of McMaster’s talented actors and features a strong production team under the direction of Dr. Peter Cockett. This production hopes to create collaborative developments with other departments across campus and to show the McMaster community that theatre is not just about entertaining, it can also provoke thoughts and discussion around numerous topics.
