How do you rest your eyes?!?
I'm finally making some progress in catching up on the work and making notes for my classes. But most of them, well all of em so far are power points online and web modules, so it involves working on the computer all the time. I always hated working on the computer for too long cuz my eyes hurt after a while.
What's the best way to rest from this? My eyes feel like they are burning man....and I even lowered the contrast on the computer too. Any ideas?

Make sure you look away from the computer at far away objects for like 30 seconds every 5-10 minutes. This will help prevent eye strain.
Make a conscious effort to blink more often, you can also try to use artificial tears. This will help your eyes from drying.

If it's dark out, try opening the window and just looking out of it for 5-10 minutes every couple hours. The fresh air will wake you up a bit, your eyes will thank you, and you'll be able to focus better.

If you have a desktop around, trying switching to it for a while. I find mine is much easier to handle for work because its more like a TV and at a better angle (eye level vs having to look down on the laptop).

maybe not what you are looking for but....
I use a program called F.lux. It adjust the colour of your monitor throughout the day. Meaning, during the day its the regular colour, but at night when most of the light comes from lamps it adjusts the colour to match the colour of the ambient lighting in the room
Sorta hard to explain, but I really like it. Runs at startup, and doesn't take much memory
Install it and try it out...its free

This! I cam here to post this. Awesome program, works very well. I now hate looking at computer screens at night without it, because I've gotten used to how much easier it is on the eyes.
