I'm in first year Life Sci, and I've been interested in becoming a TA for next year because I've read that Science TA's can be 2nd years. Does anyone know how to apply or when any deadlines are. Any info would be great because the mcmaster site doesn't make it easy.
Thanks

You can usually be a TA in 3rd year or higher. For bio, they require you to have 2.5+ years of university, for chemistry you have to have atleast 3 courses (chem) with lab ...So wait till next year!!

Your best bet is to email the prof and they will give you a link

Not sure about in science whether a 2nd year can be a TA, but definitely talk to profs that you did well in their course.

I'm going to agree with manu in that you can for sure TA when you're in 3rd year. I TA'ed a 2nd year course, while in 3rd year. You can talk to instructional assistants too, as some have a say in who gets hired =)

They mostly based your position depending on your schedule, if you can't meet the fixed times, then they wont hire you. And marks matter too, to some degree.
