i've already dropped one course and i want to drop another one which means in total i only have 8 courses this year, so i'm not sure would that mean I'm gonna be a part time student for first term because i would then only have 3 courses in first term and 5 courses in second term. and also would this affect my OSAP?

4 courses per term- you're still considered a full-time student. 3 per term= part time. Not sure about the osap.

You have to amend your OSAP information if you ever have financial changes (get or quit a job) or academic changes (changes in course load). To have your OSAP information amended, talk to a financial advisor in SFAS in Gilmour Hall.

Full time status is based on a course load of 18 or more units a semester to the MSU, and 24 units for McMaster. OSAP full time status is based on at least 60% of a full course load (24 units at McMaster).

Regardless of the specifics of how many units you have or plan to have, you have to notify OSAP immediately upon any changes to your courseload. If you drop or add a class and you don't tell them, it will impact your eligiblity for future funding.

Go to the Financial Aid office and tell them your situation. They'll give you a form to fill out, and you hand it back to them. They send it to OSAP for you.
