Dual SIM?
I've been hearing about mobile phones with dual SIM cards. Does anyone have one of these?

What benefits are there for a mobile with dual SIM, other than frequent travel to other regions of the world?

I've never heard of anyone here in Canada owning a dual sim phone. :\ In the Philippines (where I'm from) people usually have two phones from two different carriers (one's usually a budget network with cheap calls/texts from people on the same network and one from a reliable network that costs more) to save a bit of money. In that case it's easier than carrying two phones around since it's easier to switch between two networks or even two different lines/numbers so some people choose to get one of those dual sim phones instead.

I can't see the point of owning a dual sim phone here in Canada to be honest...unless you can afford to keep two sim cards and maintain both!

I was actually reading something about this on a forum online. If I can find the link I will PM you it. There are a few phones if I remember correctly that support dual-SIMS, but not many. From what I read there's a company somewhere in Europe that sells additional SIM cards to make your phone compatible, but apparently you can't use the cards simultaneously, except on one phone in particular. I'll try and find you the link.

I also think the only benefit of a dual SIM phone would be that you could operate two numbers off one phone, and in that case, I don't think there's much of a point. The only purpose would be to use a work phone (not allowed for personal use) and a personal line in the same phone.
