Hi! I'm interested in joining EFRT next year. I was wondering if standard first aid and cpr C are sufficient, or are indviduals who are certified lifeguards more favoured? Also, if anyone has joined this, what is the weekly commitment like?

Hey, check it out:

http://www.msumcmaster.ca/servicesan...lInfo/join.htm

It tells you information you need to know to join EFRT.

"MSU students who are currently certified in Standard First Aid/CPR-HCP are invited to apply for the team. "

The tryouts for EFRT are very selective. There is a written test and then two separate weekends of "role play" testing, where actors play individuals with medical problems and you are to guess what they are and treat them appropriately.

If you want additional information you can also contact the director, who can give you additional information on what the tryouts are like, how many people are accepted each year etc.

Sounds like a great opportunity. What organizations offer the CPR/First Aid courses if I'm interested to actually join the EFRT. PS- I reside in Toronto at the moment.
