EXAM defferal, need help asap
Hi,

I have an exam tmrw and was thinking of deffering it. Ive been having nausea and a fever for the last week, Im gonna go see a doc tmrw. The thing is I have only 3 courses this term. What if they reject because of that ? Also I have a 12 in the course right now, so Im afraid of messing up my average if I get rejected.

I know people who have deferred exams and they weren't even ill. You should be fine... impress upon your doctor the importance of the note that you will be requesting; anything 'moderate' to 'severe' is legitimate when reviewed.

There's also the option of being a bad-ass and going into the exam anyways. (;

First of all, WTF.. I just made my account today to ask a question and I didn't know someone was using similar nickname :(

Anyways, exam deferrals are intended for people who are "sick", not people who aren't busy enough. Even if you take 1 course this term, you can still defer that exam if you're sick.
As long as you have a legit document from one of the legit doctors, they have absolutely no reason to reject this.

I strongly recommend that you go to our campus clinic, because they do look at the doctor's name and stuff when assessing your document
I remember back in time when I defered an exam, I was told not to seek this specific doctor in future because he is well-known for selling notes (I will not mention his name, but he is famous)

Just some advice on doctors, if you can't make it to campus to go the doctor, any doctor works. They aren't really able to reject a doctors note so long as it is legitimate. Never heard of anyone not getting an exam deferred so I wouldn't worry which doctor you go to, your health is more important anyway. Hope you're better!

A walk in clinic isn't urgent care...

And it's up to the doctor's professional judgment to decide whether or not to give notes. Some people refuse. Most people charge you for them.

If I remember correctly, you've already been kicked out once and reinstated. I wouldn't risk anything if I were you.

I think that is irrelevant, that was for something very serious. My lowest mark is a 9 this year and the rest 10-12s

There's no rule that says if you've been reinstated you can't defer exams...it's supposed to give you a clean slate.

Since the OP has worked out his issue, I will now be closing the thread.
