IWC is Ivor Wynne Centre, its attached to the gym on the right hand side if you're looking at the front. You'll be able to find it because tons of people will be walking there for there exams. There will be signs inside pointing you to IWC 1, 2 and 3. If it smells like chlorine you're in the right place! The (1) (2) (3) etc is the section of the room you're in. When you get in the gym it will be filled with desks and chairs and divided into about 6 sections. The sections all have numbers indicating where they are but you can also ask any of the invigilators where your exam is if you can't find it, just give them the course code.

IWC=Ivor Wynne Centre (the old gym next to DBAC)

1 - Burridge Gym
2 - Smith Gym
3 - East Auxiliary Gym

EDIT: I'd recommend going early to find your location. They're in the basement, and, as someone with no sense of direction, I can tell you that the East Aux. Gym is really hard to find if you've never been there before.

Just follow the crowd/find someone in your class(esp with last name similar). Honestly IWC/DBAC is the most confusing place on campus , even more confusing than basement of the arts quad

Just follow the signs in IWC. Thats what i do. And then once your in the correct gym. the number in brackets ( ) is the section in the gym. The desks will be divided with fluorescent signs.

if you know your way around DBAC go up the ramp across from the help desk and there's a corridor from the second floor of DBAC that takes you to IWC. and more importantly to the hallway overlooking burridge gym (i think, the main one with like 6 sections anyways).

No, it's not. If you're concerned, email your prof. That's what I did last year! I saw (13) and sat down, and then realized I was seeing it across from the section I was really in. I emailed the prof and he said it was no issue.

It's best to confirm, though.

Sitting in the wrong section is kind of a red flag for cheating, but they understand that it's not entirely clear where the section boundaries are, people make mistakes, etc. It shouldn't make any difference if there is nothing sketchy about your exam. They'd only really go back and look at where you were sitting if the exam markers suspect cheating.

I've sat in a different section for 1/2 of my exams last year, simply because my section was full and it was never an issue. So I don't think it's a problem, but you should try and sit in the section you're assigned in, if possible

Probably not. I remember last year I already settled down in a seat with the correct exam but it was the wrong section. I asked someone and they told me as long as you're writing the exam you're suppose to be you're fine. Splitting people up into sections just makes sure people know where they are going and there will be enough seats for everyone without having people have to hunt down empty ones.
