WOW! I'm in shock, stupid move I must say :( You should always be aware of who you add
I hope everyone knows that you can adjust your settings to NOT show any of your posts on other peoples' home pages XD

I use Facebook purely for the numbers.
I set a goal for myself (recently it was 300, now it's a thousand) and add people until I reach it.
Other than that, it's not really worth much to me.
I don't voraciously browse through and consume the details of people I've added and only click around if there's something I want to clarify (Is that kid REALLY in my class because if so I might have to flush my head down the toilet...) or if a person is super super annoying.
That being said in situations where Facebook stalking might be "perfect" (i.e. In a situation where one person may feel angry, jealous, screwed over by another), I find even less use for the website. I don't really use it for that stuff, it's purely numbers to me.
And I understand that this represents the degradation of socialisation and the looming abyss our society is stepping into but that's really how I see it.
To me, if the person I add is more than somebody I would like to connect with in real life or somebody I'm adding after a brief meeting purely for the statistics, then I feel like I'm living my own life a little bit less.
I'm not judging anybody who does "Facebook stalk", I just don't like the concept myself nor do I like knowing that much about people's lives without it being a two way street.

No, not at all! It's much more awkward to run into them and one of you forgets that the other is on your facebook! Odds are that if you don't talk to them before they add you, they aren't going to remember you from their facebook.
I delete people and then run into them all the time- it's not awkward at all, and you don't have to readd them. When I meet someone, facebook doesn't even come to mind.
Infact, I delete so many people that I have, I think, 18 people on facebook, down from 58 when I did my latest deleting spree...

I deleted about 250 "friends" from facebook before coming to university.
I only kept the people that I have had a meaningful conversation with atleast once, and the people who I'm actually likely to meet again in my hometown or on campus.
I don't need a social network e-pen, and if I don't know the person, I no longer feel bad for ignoring their request.

Hmm, Facebook stalking... well, MI users if I've sorta kinda talked to them. Otherwise, I don't add people I've never talked to. That's just weird. LOL, I agree with Cheri about the slut thing. Hilarious.
I had like 360 friends last month, and I deleted like 200 because I was like, I don't even talk to these people anymore and a lot of them, I just went to school with or are friends of friends.

same here, deleted all acquaintances from middle/high school and all people who I haven't seen in a year or don't like...its really stupid to share your life with these kinda people.
right now in Mac, I'd add all the people I've seen lol simply because I don't have too many "named" friends in here
