Fall Convocation 2011: Message to Potential Graduands
This message has been posted by the McMaster University Registrar's Office.

**IMPORTANT: If you are a potential Graduand for Fall 2011 Convocation, please read this message carefully.**

Congratulations on your hard work and your achievement!

Fall Convocation is on Friday November 18, 2011. If you intend to graduate in one of these Convocation ceremonies, there are some forms that you must fill out and some information you must know to ensure your graduation experience is easy and enjoyable.
  1. First, you must complete the online Graduation Information Card by Friday September 30, 2011.
The Graduation Information Card notifies the Office of the Registrar of key information about your expected graduation, including the degree and program you expect to graduate from, or any minors you intend to declare. The form is available at http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /convo.../gradcard.html
  2. Complete the online Graduation Response Form by Friday November 4, 2011.
Similar to an RSVP, this form notifies the Office of the Registrar of whether you intend to actually attend your ceremony. Please note the following fees for convocation, which will be due upon completion of the Graduation Response Form. You may choose to attend your ceremony (your diploma will be provided to you at your ceremony), not attend your ceremony and have your diploma mailed to you by courier, or, not attend your ceremony, and pick up your diploma from our office (GH 109). To allow for processing, diplomas will be mailed or available for pickup approximately two weeks after each convocation ceremony.
The Graduation Response Form is available at http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /convo...onse/index.php
  3. Notify the Office of the Registrar if the name on your diploma should appear differently than the name that appears in McMaster’s student records system, by October 7, 2011. For more information on this process visit the Information for Graduands: Diplomas page on the Convocation website.
  4. Notify the Office of the Registrar of any accessibility arrangements required for graduands or guests with disabilities.
Graduands with disabilities or graduands who have guests with disabilities who will be attending their convocation ceremony are asked to complete the online Convocation accessibility form. The Office of the Registrar will then contact you with further information. Please complete this form at least two weeks before the date of your ceremony.
  5. For other tasks you must complete, please consult the Checklist for Graduands page on the Convocation website.
Comprehensive information about Convocation is available at the Convocation website, including details about:If you have any questions regarding convocation, please visit the convocation website . Or, you may call the Registrar’s Office main information line at (905) 525-4600, or email the Registrar's Office using Ask McMaster.
