Geography 1HA3 Or Econ 1bb3?
Hi, I was thinking of switching my geography course with something else, and most likely economics 1bb3. I took economics 1b03 this term, and I found it arlight, somewhere in the middle of being fun and boring (mostly because i hate night classes). I currently have geography 1ha3 for next term, though i am not too sure if it will be fun and easy, is there alot of essays or just assignments? I took geography in highschool and i liked it and did great in it but then again that was in grade 9.
What are your suggestions, I am interested in pursuing the Multimedia program and I am also interested in some business courses, economics is somewhat classified under business (I already have commerce next term). I am mostly looking for something that will be a GPA booster while helping me gain knowledge i might use.
Thanks.

There are 4 assignments in Geo 1HA3: 2 are writing assignments, 1 group assignment and 1 is an assignment done in the map library. These assignments are not that hard and it is easy to get a good mark on them especially the group assignment.
I don't know if you still want to stay in this course but you should at least try it out. If you are still unsure, read the review I made for 1HA3:

if you want an easy course Econ 1bb3 would be your best bet. it is pretty easy and so long as you attend the lectures, beit your section or the other section(s) you'll do fine. Plus aplia is a pretty easy mark booster and there are no group assignments

1HA3 was one of the worst courses I ever took. Take 1BB3

yeah, i think i will just take economics 1bb3, since I already took economics 1b03, and I heard many say that if you taken micro (which i did) then macro will be a lot easier, is this true? If that's the case then macro should be good. Plus like I said I am debating about doing a minor in commerce (I need econ for that).
Thanks for the replies so far, only thinking about geoography because its something new for me, but maybe its better to do something that i know what to expect.

Geo 1HA3 still sets the highest mark I have ever got in my uni career in a class. I got 2 points more than econ .. If you do well of those 4 assignments you will get a 12. the exams are a joke

This is definitely a confusing choice, the thing that makes it confusing is that some people say its hard, others say its easy for 1ha3, but at least with econ i tried it, maybe i will just wait till i get my economics 1b03 mark, and decide.

Not sure how useful this is, but a friend told me that the two music electives (Music1A03 and Music1AA3 respectively) are ridiculously easy. Very easy to pull off a double digit grade if you do the work.
Plus studying music probably isn't terribly boring either. If your just looking for a random elective that's easy, I'd give it a go.

I don't recommend you take GEO 1HA3, I kept hearing it was a bird course and took it this semester, worst mistake I have ever made...if you're looking for an easy course, this is not it. I did more work in it than all my other classes and I'm in the sciences!
Also, there is a lot of writing in it, and an essay (6-8 pages of writing) worth 10% of your mark jsyk.

My experience with Geo 1HA3 was really good. I thought it was really easy (pulled off an 11 without too much effort). But of course I liked the subject matter.
I actually did the exact opposite of what you are planning to do, last year. I took Geo 1HA3 first semester, the dropped Geo 1HB3 second semester for Econ 1BB3. I just wanted to try something new. I did well in econ but not as well as I did in geo. But then again, the econ course breakdown was a bit different that semester (we just had a midterm and an exam).

I took both Geo courses: 1HA3 and 1HB3. My experience on both of those courses were pretty good and I have the same prof for both of them. I found 1HA3 easier than 1HB3
