The area of study for this course changes every term. This term, it was Brazil.

The course breakdown was this:

Test 2 - 15%
Video Assignments - 5%
Final exam - 50%

Many things were discussed...

Hi, I just took this course last semester and let me say it was the worst course I have taken at Mac. Now, I took it with Pat de Luca and his testing was somewhat okay, but in order to get a good mark you have to memorize every single little fact in the slides plus readings and his courseware textbook. By the end of the course there was 1134 slides to study from. The lectures were EXTREMELY DRY. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE WITH PAT!!!

Review of 3RW3 (Italy)
I took this course 1st semester of 2012-2013 with Mr. Deluca, and I have to say that I disagree with the poster above. If you went to class and studied for the tests maybe 2 days beforehand it was a pretty easy course overall. The content is easy, and you really just have to understand trends to answer the questions. In addition, Mr. Deluca cut down the slides for the exam from ~1100 to ~600 for the exam, so it was definitely manageable. Personally, I'd prefer more tests/assignments just incase you screw up one you have more chances to redeem yourself, but the course is structured by the Geography and Earth Sciences department. The content is really cool and you learn a lot of interesting things about Italy overall.

The best part about this course is the prof. I can't stress this enough, but Deluca is a great prof who actually cares about his students. He remembers the faces of who comes to class, so when you come into his office for his office hours he will tell you that he recognizes you. I suggest that if you're in any of his classes that you go to his office hours, because he's pretty transparent about what he expects you to know for his tests.

I can only speak about this course for Italy, but all in all I'd take it again with Deluca if I had the chance. If you're willing to go to class, study for the tests and go to his office hours maybe once or twice a semester this course is not hard to get a 10 or above.

Took this course with Dr. Basik. Breakdown was midterm (30%), two tests (more like quizzes worth 10% each), term assignment (10%), final exam (40%). This class was by far an interesting and easy class. Dr. Basik is the best and he really cares for his students. He wants everyone to get 11s and 12s so he makes the tests and exam really straightforward and easy. The term assignment was a joke and he had the marks in within 24 hours of handing it in. Easy 12, definitely take it!
