Graduate school
Do graduate schools just look at your average for the last two years of school or are they looking for your average in all four years? Sorry for the ignorace, first one in the family to actually go to university here. Thanks for all the help!

you have to actually check each school individually. It's different for each one I think.

Most are your last two years. But if you mean professional school, it can be all four years. It really does depend on the school and the program, so you'll have to do your research.

If you want more info on grad school, read this series (by me and a PhD grad): http://talentegg.ca/incubator/catego...o-grad-school/ Articles are to be released weekly until at least November.

Most of them say that the transcript must show a B or 3.0 average, nothing saying in the last two years. The reason being my average of my last two years is lower than my overal average of four years. Maybe Ill go see a guidance or faculty counsellor. Thanks for the help though.

It should say something about when the average applies to though; if is all four years of your program, the last year or the last two. The fact it doesn't is kind of odd.

A McMaster academic councilor can't help you; they don't know anything about programs from other schools. Your best bet is to contact the other school's graduate secretary directly.

I'd also like to point out that a B is the absolute minimum average you'd need to have your application looked at in-depth. Your overall application package is considered, and meeting the minimum for the most part doesn't cut it. I've had over the required average (and in one case by two grade points) and I still wasn't accepted.

If it's not specified, I'm pretty sure it means it's for all your years. That's how it is for Optometry, it doesn't specify, but they take into account all years (Undegraduate and even Graduate if it applies).
