Went to the mandarin between 10:30 and 10:45 am. Waited until 12 for the line to start moving. Waited until 4pm to actually get into the restaurant. Ate for like an hour. There went my day. It was epic tho.
We were there an hour and a half before opening, and there were already (we estimated) around 600-800 people in line. And about the same number of people were behind us by the time we actually got to the front of the line. It was intense.

Yeah, the traffic was brutal. We got home pretty late, and I had work in the morning!
Oh well... the festivities and fireworks were well worth it!

Well, by the time we realized that the line was moving really slow, we'd been in line for like 2 hours already (because we were there almost an hour and a half before the mandarin even opened), and after 2 hours, there was nooo turning back.
I don't know if I'd ever do it again, haha, but the free food slash interesting characters in line was totally worth it.
