Has anyone done toner refill before?
Mine is running out but since I only spent 80 something on the printer I dont wanna spend another $80 on the toner

I asked the guy in the printer shop in westdale, but he says that he doesnt do toner refills.
so my plan is to buy the refill kit from ebay
So I'm thinking of refilling it myself http://cgi.ebay.ca/Toner-Refill-Samsung-ML-1665-ML1660-Printer-Type-104-/250790308655?pt=BI_To ner&hash=item3a64446b 2f#ht_621wt_890

and watch this video..

I've refilled Brother toners before, they're not typically too bad, but it does take practice and if you spill the toner its very annoying to clean up. I do have a printer that uses the same cartridge as yours, I send it out to be refilled because it is non-trivial and I can't be bothered.

You may want to call around to a couple of shops downtown, you might find someone who will fill this cartridge. You should probably expect to pay $35-50 to get it filled though. If you search online, the price for this cartridge new is nearer to $65-70 with shipping, so you may want to consider that option.

As a side note, the cartridge your printer came with is a 1/2 filled starter cartridge (only 700 pages) so you should expect a full cartridge to last twice as long.

honestly i would avoid filling it myself. I'm sure it would be fine but you need to be careful avoiding inhalation (i.e. wear gloves and a mask) - so obviously it has some risks...

i would say you are better off buying a new one, ebay sometimes has cheaper ones. but i got my printer for $40 4 years ago and i've bought $80 cartridges for it 3 times but its well worth it, laser toners last a very long time.

Keep in mind that if you accidentally break it, you'll be spending more money...

While that is a great site (I bought so much inks from there for cheap), for his printer, it cost $80 for a toner.

Doesn't seems like its a popular enough brand for them to create cheap ink for.

That's really weird, it came up as free shipping for me to downtown (postal code l8p 3s3). Maybe try a friends address?
