It's better than nothing. Usually, people will only post if they have had a very good or a very bad experience with a profesor. But it at least helps you get some idea of the prof.

According to Dr. Dej a fair number of profs actually frequently check their own pages. So it could have a positive impact on their actual teaching, if they're the type of prof who is willing to change their style.

She was so excited when she got her first chilli pepper. ^.^
