Health/Dental Opt Out Money
Hey,
If we opted out of the health/dental plans, when did it say we would get our money back for it? I cant remember!
Thanks

A cheque should be sent soon, I don't think there's a specific time. Can anyone confirm this though?

I strongly suggest everyone keep an eye out for their opt-out cheque. If it doesn't come within a few weeks, go talk to someone at the MSU office on the second floor of the student centre.

Last year, a bunch of people (including me!) opted out and didn't receive any cheque for months. In December, I contacted the MSU and asked them why I never got my cheque. They said something screwed up in their system and a lot of student's names were removed off the "opt out" list - meaning they weren't on the list to get their money back, even though they had opted out months before. I had to print off my opt-out receipt and take it to the MSU office. A few weeks later, I still hadn't recieved anything, so I went back to the MSU office. It turns out, they lost the opt-out receipt I gave them and never contacted me about it. I had to give them another copy and I received my cheque in January.

Long story short - if you don't get your cheque soon, stay on top of it, because there's a chance you've been removed from the opt-out list

Unfortunately yes, the opt out period usually ends near the end of September.

How can I get the most out of my insurance plan? I don't really need it, so I want to use it up 100%
