Well personally if I sleep 6 hours.. or even less.. i just dont have a good day. I wish it werent that way, Id love to only need 4 hours, and spend that freed up time doing other things, but my body just wont function.
Can you run on less sleep without any problems?

That...doesn't even make any sense.
You realize you're not conscious during sleep, right? You can call it a waste of time (which is still stupid because a lack of sleep affects your function in every other aspect of life) but to call it boring is just weird.

Since you're in business....you'll get more than the recommended amount. First year business is a breeze
As for me personally, I got 7ish hours first term, and more on weekends. However, term 2 I only got 5 hours because of early mornings.

Are you trying to tell me that not everyone dreams of just sitting around in a blank room doing nothing while waiting to wake up?
Wow, it's like you all have imaginations or something...

While sleep may be boring, it's incredibly important. One theory for the necessity of sleep is that it is an immune function. It's meant to regulate the amount of gut flora you have in your body, release growth hormone and synthesize proteins to restore physiological balance. That's why you "like sleep". You physiologically feel better after it.

if you lift weights get at least 8, if you can get more i would.
i personally got 8/9 hours a night M-F, probably 10/11 on weekends. depends on how much i ran/lifted during the week
business 1 students don't really have enough of a course load to impact their sleeping habits unless they don't do anything and then cram a day before a midterm.

That was the joke... why is everyone taking what I said seriously except for that guy who knows what's what. :| Now I feel like a tool, I'll go lie down with my eyes closed in a dark room and wait until morning now. Thanks a lot.
EDIT:
I forgot to mention I get roughly 6 hours of sleep a day, but sometimes 8.
