HTH SCI 1PA3 - Current Topics in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences
Can upper year students please comment on HTH SCI 1PA3 - Current Topics in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences?

I was wondering if there is a lot of writing, etc?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Awesome course, Pass/Fail so you can get by without doing much writing... that being said you do have to write a 400 word and a 100 word paper every week, the former of which definitely requires a bit of thought in order to be "passable"

Great course though, highly recommended

I am debating between that or math 1lt3. Currently I am taking three maths, so that I can eventually minor in math. But at the same time, health sci 1pa3 sounds great. Also since it is a pass/fail course, I am afraid that my other courses will count more towards my GPA. So I am thinking I should take the math to boost up my GPA.
What do you think I should do? Any thoughts? :-)

Well no it cant boost your GPA and other courses will count more but the workload is not heavy and theres no exam leaving you more time for your other courses... And its very interesting if you have any affinity towards Biochemistry... also you get to see what kind of cool research is going on at McMaster from Mac profs!

Regarding the minor in math, you can always take 1LT3 in second year, or take HTHSCI 1PA3 in second year Theres no rush!

if you want to minor in math, i wouldnt wait to do 1lt3 math until 2nd year. also, just so you know, many people consider 1lt3 to be a light/easy course too.

OK I guess you're right. I am gonna stick with the math for now. Besides, both of these courses are offered second term only, and neither one is full. So I have till the second term to change my mind.

actually, 1PA3 requires registration in level I. You can't take it past first year.
