Japanese 1Z06
Just how difficult is this course?

I usually am fairly decent with languages, and I taught myself a little Japanese a few years back (inb4 anime - no). I am not a native English speaker, either, so I know what it's like to learn a new language and completely replace my former with the latter.

I actually found Japanese (when I self-taught) to be somewhat easy when trying to remember phrases and assigning words to their equivalent meanings, except for the countless Kanji that one has to memorize. But all in all, in terms of the difficulty of this course, how difficult is it?

For me, this class is not very difficult. The professor gives us mini-quiz every lecture to see what we have learned, but you do a lot of memorization of kanji and vocabulary. You should read the review about this course and see what you think.

You'll like this class. Iwai-sensei is a great prof and you'll like her. I'm about to take the 2nd year Japanese and I heard it's harder than 1Z06

Well, I wouldn't be surprised, as it is the continuation to the former class and concentrates on an intermediate difficulty for learning advanced stuff.

But then again, if you're building a house, it's easier when you've got a base to build on. Same here; it shouldn't be too hard if you passed 1Z06 easily.

As for me...well...we'll see. *COUGH*
