Journalism @ MAC
Does Mcmaster offer a journalism program? I havent come accross anything which sucks..

Im not entirely sure, but they could offer a diploma via continuing education. Communication Studies (CMST) does offer practical placements, which you could use for journalism. Not to mention the recent experiential learning opportunity with The Hamilton Spectator -- http://www.socsci.mcmaster.c a/EE/E...cements. html

The CMST program here is a really good one that covers a lot of possible career paths.

You don't need a degree in journalism to be a journalist.

Anyway, Mac has a lot of journalistic experiences you can get involved in if you're interested.

FYI, my editor (I'm an amateur journalist of sorts) said she is damn lucky to have a job right out of university (she graduated this spring with a B.Journalism from Ryerson), since so many people are going to school for it.

You're better off to journalistic stuff as extra-curriculars to build up a portfolio and learn about the industry while getting a degree in another field.

I hear Carleton is great for journalism too, but it is a rather competitive field.
