Kin or Life Sci for Physiothearpy
Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone from kinesiology or life sciences program can answer some of my questions. I wish to pursue a career in physiotherapy after 4 years of my undergrad. That being said, I also wish to get as much out of my undergrad experiences as possible! My question is, Kinesiology or Life sciences. You might say, if physio is my ultimate goal, kin might be more suitable because the core of my studies is very relevant to the profession of physio. However, I've heard that life sciences opens a lot more doors. For example, you will have more pre-requisites taken for other professional schools (physics, organic chemistry, etc.). Although physio is my true passion, it would be nice to have back up plans such as medicine and I feel as though life sciences will prepare me better for MCAT. Is it possible for me to take kinesiology courses if I'm enrolled in life sciences because I wish to have good background knowledge in human body and physiology that will make me a good physio. If there's anyone in kin planning on applying to medicine / anyone in life sciences applying to physiotherapy, please shoot me a message. I would really appreciate it

kin. it is an overall more enjoyable program and has more than enough space to cover prereqs for other professional schools such as med, dental, pharm, etc. doesnt matter what program youre in, you need to look ahead of time into the prereqs of certain professional school programs and plan accordingly. either way, both programs give enough space to achieve this. choose kin for the better experience and easier first year.

kin. you have four electives each year (5 in first year) to take the pre-reqs for other grad/ med programs. and the profs are awesome. i was in your position back then but ended up choosing kin. best decision ever

Kin all the way. All the kin kids are a family, and the program prepares you for physio super well. Courses are the most interesting ever so you'll be enjoying school even if the courses are required! Not a lot of programs have mandatory courses that are amazing. Faculty is the nicest group as well (shoutout to Howarth).
