MAC e-mail after graduation
Anyone know what happens to our MAC e-mail once we graduate? Do they deactivate it right away?

Thanks

You are able to access it on MUGSI/muss.cis.mcmaster.ca for 6 months after you graduate.
BUT if you forward your MUSS email to another account, like your Gmail, it will be yours forever. You just won't be able to access it anywhere other than your Gmail account.

There should be an option in 'Settings' or something to add an existing email/forward account to your current GMail account

Can you also send e-mail from your MUSS account using Gmail after graduation?

Yes, there is a way to set this up in Gmail...it's pretty convenient

Yeah, I already have this setup but don't know if it works after graduation. Like maybe they disable sending e-mails but you can still receive (but can't access).

I know that you can send emails from Gmail as another account. Whether or not it works once you're past 6 months of graduation, I'm not sure.

To do this in Gmail:
- go to Settings
- Accounts and Import
- "Send Mail As"

All you have to do is fill out the info and click the confirmation link that will be sent to your MUSS account.
I would contact UTS and ask them if this will still work once you've graduated for 6 months. I can't imagine why it wouldn't, but it's good to double check.
