MacInsiders Peaking Bandwidth

MacInsiders Going Through Growing Pains
Features temporarily disabled while server at peak load

Update #2: Everything is back up and functional. Bandwidth has been increased. Thanks for your patience!

Update: Forums re-enabled. More bandwidth coming.

Dear Users,

We are currently experiencing peak load on our server. While we're excited that our community and readership continues to grow, we're having to take necessary steps over the next few hours to decrease the strain on our server bandwidth. In order to try and and combat a site outage like last time, some features of the site have been disabled temporarily but will be back up soon - the biggest one is the forum (sorry!). We have ordered more bandwidth from our web host provider and it should be setup by tonight. If the site goes down, don't be alarmed as we'll be back up as soon as possible!

MacInsiders is a non-profit student organization, so all sponsorship funding and advertising dollars helps keep us afloat. We are currently channeling more club funds into our hosting and bandwidth costs to serve you better in the future and support our quick growth, especially over the next few weeks as we expect more growth during Welcome Week and Clubsfest. Keep checking back as we'll keep you posted with updates.

Thanks for your co-operation and support.

Search functionality is still disabled, so the new posts button won't work. Should be back by tomorrow, along with the arcade. They are both big users of bandwidth.

Ah, ok. That's good to know. So, if I use the "latest discussion forum" instead of the "new unread posts" button, I would be helping keep the bandwidth lower? Because I wouldn't mind doing that, I don't find it much of a difference.
