McHappy Day
This Wednesday May 6th is McHappy Day. Every year on McHappy Day, McDonald's restaurants donate part of their sales from certain food items to children’s charities across Canada. This year, $1 from every Egg McMuffin, Big Mac and Happy Meal sold will be donated.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Canada is greatly affected by the sales of McHappy Day. One of the twelve Canadian houses is located across from McMaster, and helps families at the McMaster Children’s Hospital stay close when their children are in long-term care.
The funds raised benefit 170 other children’s charities across Canada. Since the first McHappy Day in 1977, nearly $26 million has been raised for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), the Ronald McDonald House program and local children’s charities across Canada.
