Mcmaster during Winter
Doing a quick survey.. If you've experienced Mcmaster during the winter season please share your opinion!

Are the pathways between buildings and the building entrances free of snow and ice during the winter time after a moderate snow fall?

Yeah, the school is usually pretty quick at snow removal on campus. Some paths get pretty slushy when the snow melts, though. Also, the floors inside the very frequented buildings get pretty wet and slippery... those rugs are rarely enough to soak up the melted snow boots bring in.

Yes, McMaster is generally very good about shoveling and putting salt on all pathways around the school.

After it snows, Mac starts by clearing all fire exits. Then they clean the ramps for wheelchair students. Then they clean the pathways leading into buildings and whatevers left.

Problem: As winter approaches, they close extra stairways, so traffic congestion becomes a bit of an issue. Ice occasionally builds up, but it's generally not bad.

Yepp, Mac's good like that, can't complain, really...

Lmao, just a little warning, though:
you know that little ramp-like thingie that's in front of the museum (right beside Sterling) that leads straight to the student centre, then Mills is on the right?

Yeah. I've slipped and fallen on my butt a couple times there last year.
Not only did I slip and fall, I kinda slid down on my ass... O_O

Just make sure you're careful, lmao, it's SO embarrassing.
Slippery shit is slippery. Who would've thoughtt?!?!

Busses are considerably more crowded.
I advise keeping socks with you or at least in your locker; because on more than one occasion I've walked through snow (because of lateness) and gotten my shoes drenched.. spending the rest of the day in those socks is not fun.

how are they with plowing/salting the hill to the parking lots?
I was dreading being the person that makes it half way up then gets stuck all year last winter but we never got any real snow on days I had class.

Pretty much. ^

Also, it's a requirement for everybody to clear snow within 24 hours of a snow fall from sidewalks and entrances... good ol' by-laws.

I wouldn't worry, we got what.... 3 days of snowfall last year? It was disgustingly pathetic.

The only thing is that the central park-thing turns into a giant pond with the meltwater...
